Your comfort and safety on Kilimanjaro are our top priority. That's why we provide only the highest quality 4-season tents from Big Ages for those who want to be able to stand in their tents and also sleep on comfortable cots. Rest easy in the Mad House 6 (shared by two persons with elevated cots) designed to withstand the harshest mountain conditions. 2-person groups will share a 6-person tent, and solo trekkers will have a 4-person tent all to themselves. Our dining tents are a combination of Big Agnes Mad House 8 and REI Wonderland X. For solo travelers who prefer a private tent, single supplements can be purchased in our online store. Sleeping pads are included and inflatable pillows.

Sleeping Bags (Rentals)
At Hike Talk Stay Adventures, we understand the importance of staying warm on your Kilimanjaro climb. That's why we offer rentals of Mountain Hardwear sleeping bags specifically rated for the mountain's harsh conditions. These high-performance bags, like the Lamina series, boast temperature ratings of 0°F (-18°C) or warmer, ensuring you stay comfortable even at high altitudes. Their synthetic insulation provides excellent warmth and wicks away moisture, while the durable construction can withstand the rigors of the trek. Rest assured, you'll have a toasty haven for a restful night's sleep as you conquer the "Roof of Africa."

Private Toilets, Toilet Tents & Hygiene(included for groups)
The Thetford Porta Potti 565E Curve Portable offers a convenient and hygienic solution for hikers tackling the challenging ascent of Kilimanjaro. Its compact design makes it easy to carry, while the curved shape provides added comfort and privacy. The portable toilet features a flush system and a sealed tank, ensuring a clean and odor-free experience. Also, this toilet is the height of a normal toilet for your comfort and convenience.

Hikers can rest assured that they'll have a reliable and sanitary option for their bathroom needs throughout the journey, especially when used in conjunction with the Nemo Heliopolis Privacy Shelter & Shower Tent, which provides a private and comfortable space for toileting on the mountain.
The typical ratio of toilets to persons is 7:1 for most hiking companies. We will provide 1 toilet for every 5, making the ratio 5:1.

Private Showers, Shower Tents for Large Groups (additional charge)
Showers for large groups can be obtained although this might reduce the overall Kilimanjaro experience somewhat. Most trekkers choose to bring full body wipes, but for Groups that need showers we can accomodate.
Our showers utilize hot water heater technology to warm your water instantly using propane based heaters. We have designated porters to carry, setup, and assist with this. We also provide a base to our showers to ensure you are on level ground and not sitting in a puddle of water during your shower. Water conservation and leave no trace principles are utilized and will be highlighted during your trip itinerary and briefing. Water is a scarce resource on the mountain and should be used conservatively.

Water Treatment Equipment on Kili
Water is purified before drinking and for large groups, it will be double filtered on Kilimanjaro by our porter crew. We utilize advanced filtering technology from Katadyn. This tried and tested ceramic filter removes bacteria, protozoa, and other disease causing agents. The output of this filter is approximately 4 liters per minute which makes it ideal for large groups. In addition, water treatment tablets are utilized to purify water. Please let us know when you fill out your Trip Information form if you have a sulfa allergy and also during the trip briefing at your hotel in Tanzania prior to your climb as we will adjust the water filtering process to meet your needs.
Emergency & Private Oxygen Option

The Altox Personal Oxygen System offers a valuable safety measure for trekkers attempting to summit Kilimanjaro. This portable device provides supplemental oxygen, which can be crucial in mitigating the effects of altitude sickness, particularly during the final push to the summit. By ensuring adequate oxygen intake, the Altox helps reduce the risk of serious altitude-related illnesses such as high-altitude pulmonary edema (HAPE) and high-altitude cerebral edema (HACE). Your guides will determine when to utilize supplemental oxygen only in the cases of necessity, the Altox can be a valuable tool in enhancing safety and increasing the chances of a successful summit. This is the system we utilize and provide with all guides.
You can choose to rent a personal system kept with your personal porter walking with you at all times. https://summitoxygen.com/altox-personal-oxygen-system/.
